Common ground of stamping, forging and spinning

 

■%The principle is that the press exerts pressure on the metal in the mold, the efficiency is very high, and the processing speed can be very fast; all need molds, and the mold is generally more expensive to process, but once the processing is successful, it can be mass produced.

■% The technical requirements are high, and generally require master mold technology, which requires large investment, and forging requires greater investment.

■%Most of the processing machines are mechanical or hydraulic presses. The layman looks similar and has many similarities, but there are many differences in the equipment structure and practical application.

■%It is a kind of processing technology, does not produce its own independent products, stamping or forging and spinning are to provide several or even hundreds of products for downstream users, subject to downstream demand, is only a small link in the middle of the industrial chain, generally do not have the pricing power.

 

The difference between stamping, forging and spinning

Stamping is basically cold working, of course, there are also hot punches, but relatively few; forging is basically hot, need to heat the processing materials, there are also cold forming, but after the end of the heat treatment; spinning is generally cold working, but in the process, the material itself will become hot.

 

Forging is volume deformation, metal structure change, and processing is basically three-dimensional force-bearing parts, such as crankshaft connecting rods in engines; stamping is plate deformation, which generally does not involve internal crystal changes, but only the thickness of the plate. The processed stamping parts are stressed or not, and have a wide range of applications; spinning combines the deformation methods of stamping and forging, it can not only change the volume (shape) of the material, but also change the thickness of the material by stretching.

The working environment in the forging workshop is relatively harsh and messy, accompanied by huge noise, as well as the smell of burning in the heating industrial furnace, cooling graphite, oxide scale, etc. The stamping workshop is relatively better, but the noise is not small due to the up and down collision of the stamping machine. The environment of the spinning workshop is relatively good. The spinning machine basically has protective doors, which can isolate some noise and produce no or little waste.

From the perspective of workers, traditional factories are very monotonous, stamping automation is common, forging is relatively difficult, spinning mostly relies on CNC technology, and the requirements for workers are not very high.

   

No matter what kind of processing technology, it belongs to the manufacturing industry. Manufacturing industry is an essential and important basic industry, which is related to people's livelihood. Therefore, we should make full use of the characteristics and advantages of each process to produce high-demand products and enhance the overall industrial capacity of the country.
